Young Learners' English Program

Length of Program

ACE’s comprehensive program is specially designed for adolescent students from 11 to 15 years of age. The program runs over 8 terms (2 years).

ACE’s young students learn through undertaking tasks in the very same communicative environment which has proven successful for adult learners at ACE for more than sixteen years.

Program Features

The Young Learners' English Program offers students the opportunity to learn English while they consolidate and broaden their knowledge and understanding of themselves and the world. This is achieved by linking the English language learning to broader educational goals with direct connections to other school subjects such as Geography, History, Science and Social Science, thus providing ACE’s young learners with an authentic reason for communicating in the English language classroom.

This program reflects the young students’ own lives, personal interests and studies, making this program the most accessible and relevant course available to young learners in Cambodia today. The program also engages children in a variety of fun learning experiences using a wide range of English language skills through many creative, educational and fun activities and themes. During each lesson the students practise English in many interesting ways though group work, question and answer, projects, puzzles, songs and a whole range of other learning activities including educational games.

Teachers on the Program

Students are co-taught by Cambodian teachers and native English-speaking teachers.

Certificate

Upon completion of the program, students receive an ACE certificate and can advance to either General English Program Level 5 or Level 6 based on their study result.
