International English Language Testing System - IELTS

IELTS is the test of English language skills that is trusted and recognised by institutions, business and governments worldwide.

Institutions and organisations that ask for IELTS results include:

  1. all universities and the vast majority of education providers in Australia, New Zealand and the UK, as well as most universities in Canada
  2. more than 3,000 higher educational institutions and programs in the US
  3. immigration authorities in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK
  4. professional registration bodies worldwide, covering areas such as accounting, engineering, law, medicine and nursing
  5. a wide range of employers from sectors such as banking and finance, government, construction, energy and natural resources, aviation, health and tourism
  6. universities in non-English speaking countries where English is the language of instruction.

IELTS is the world’s most popular high-stakes English language test. It is co-owned by IDP: IELTS Australia, the British Council and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.

IELTS tests are administered at centres throughout the world - there are currently more than 800 test locations in over 135 countries.

IELTS is conducted in Cambodia every two weeks, usually on a Saturday. Additional test dates can be set for groups of 10 or more candidates. The current cost of the test is US$180.



Registration for IELTS

1.  Check the test dates to find two options that suit you. Note the deadline  for registering for each test date. The test fee is US $180.

2.  Please make sure that you are registered for the correct module: Academic or General Training.

3.  Read the ‘Information for Candidates’, terms and conditions, complete the IELTS application form and sign it.  Please make sure you have a valid postal address and use the same name as on your passport.

You may also register online.

4.  Organize two passport photos, less than six month old and sign on the back of each. When you take the photo, you must not wear glasses.

5.  Take a photocopy of your current passport – this must be valid and not expired. You may also submit your National ID card.

6.  Take your application to the centre with your money.

7.  Once you have registered, we will confirm your IELTS test date, time and venue.

Please note the Speaking test can be up to 7 days before or after the test date.

8.  On the test day, you must bring the same passport or National ID that you entered on the IELTS Application Form.
