Education in Australia

Living and study costs

The cost of studying in another country can be very expensive. It is important to consider the following items of expenditure, related to overseas study:

  • Tuition fees
  • Accommodation
  • Daily living costs
  • Health insurance
  • Travel to Australia
  • Visa and medical fees

Study in Australia is generally less expensive than study in the UK or in the USA.

Scholarships

Most overseas students pay for their own study in Australia. A few universities offer scholarships, but these scholarships are highly competitive.

Some agencies, such as the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) provide a limited number of scholarships specifically to Cambodians.

IDP provides information about these scholarships. For more information, please call the IDP Office and make an appointment with the IDP Education Counsellor.

The Australian Government scholarship scheme is called the Australian Development Scholarships (ADS). The ADS scheme is administered through AusAID and managed in Cambodia by IDP.
