Study and visa applications
The process for studying in Australia and obtaining a visa is
normally:
- Select a course and a college or university with assistance
from an IDP Counsellor
- Complete the application form, providing academic transcripts
and submit to the Counsellor
- Wait for a "Letter of Offer" from the school in Australia. Do
not pay any tuition fees.
- Complete a student visa application form with assistance from
the IDP Counsellor
- Complete the pre-visa assessment with the Australian Embassy
(IDP provides assistance)
- Complete a medical examination with an approved doctor
- Pay the tuition fees through IDP Cambodia (no bank charges or
transfer fees are required)
- Collect passport and visa from the Australian Embassy
Visa requirements
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) at the
Australian Embassy is responsible for all visas from Cambodia to
Australia. DIAC requires a range of information and documentation
before assessing visa applications.
IDP provides visa assistance for a fee, but this assistance is
only to prepare the application correctly. IDP visa assistance does
not guarantee that a visa application will be approved, but it does
ensure that the visa documentation is correctly submitted to the
Embassy.
DIAC may require the applicant to go to the Embassy for an
interview. A medical test is compulsory before the visa will be
issued.
The visa process may take up to three months to complete.
